Toss for a Cause: 7th Annual Coastside Cornhole Tournament at Pillar Point Harbor

That community spirit comes alive each fall at one of Half Moon Bay’s favorite traditions: the Coastside Cornhole Tournament, returning for its 7th annual event on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

From 10 AM to 4 PM at Pillar Point Harbor, locals and visitors will gather for a family-friendly day filled with cornhole matches, live music, delicious food, and oceanfront fun—all while raising money to support Coastside public schools.

Half Moon Bay’s Favorite Fall Tradition

What started as a grassroots community event has grown into a signature Half Moon Bay fall festival. Ocean Element Real Estate co-founder Matt Haugen helped plan the original tournament during his time as President of the Cabrillo Education Foundation (CEF). Today, the event continues to benefit CEF, with proceeds strengthening educational opportunities in Cabrillo Unified School District.

“This event has become a true Coastside tradition,” says CEF Executive Director Corrine Bucher. “Cornhole is such a fun way to bring people together, and Pillar Point Harbor makes the perfect backdrop.”
